Promote research and advocate for dementia friendly communities that respect the dignity of the individual.
New programs
A new initiative that launched in 2024 offered training for Personal Support Workers (PSWs) in Toronto. This program also provided 18 months of counseling and support for clients of the Alzheimer Society of Toronto (AST) who had recently received a dementia diagnosis. In 2024 the organization launched a new program that offered dementia education in multiple languages reflecting the diverse communities it served. This initiative also involved translating the Dementia 101 content into these various languages.
