Ongoing programs

The charity acquires documents preserves and maintains a collection of aircraft that were flown by Canadians and the Canadian military services from World War II to the present including other related aviation artifacts and memorabilia of significant historical importance to this period. The charity instructs educates and entertains the general public through the maintenance and rotation of displays flight demonstration special events and activities. The charity acquires documents preserves and maintains a collection of aircraft that were flown by Canadians and the Canadian military services from World War II to the present including other related aviation artifacts and memorabilia of significant historical importance to this period. The charity instructs educates and entertains the general public through the maintenance and rotation of displays flight demonstration special events and activities. We also provide facilities for the restoration and protection of our aircraft collection. The charity maintains supportive exhibits in tribute to the thousands of men and women who built serviced and flew these aircraft and in memory of those who did not return. Our education programs attract over 18 000 students to the museum annually. We also run educational model building workshops 'Night Ops' programs and summer camps. The museum's gift shop sells items related to aviation and military history through in-store web based telephone and mail order sales. Our catering department runs a full service cafe for members guests staff volunteers and the general public as well as running organizing and providing food services for a variety of events including business meetings weddings galas and trade shows. We have 325 active volunteers who donated 41 857 hours of their time.
