Ongoing programs

The Centre provides activities information and support to over 2000 seniors (persons ages 55+). We offer social support programs instructor led activities (physical educational and leisure both in person & online) a community cafe program as well as a frozen meal program and volunteer opportunities where approximately 225 volunteers provide over 15 000 hours per year. The Centre provides activities information and support to over 2000 seniors (persons ages 55+). Our volunteers provide office assistance and assistance with seniors mental activities. Our efforts are aimed at engaging seniors from all backgrounds including mainstream ethnic minority and indigenous seniors to promote healthy aging within their communities. In addition to providing seniors programs our hub in Strathcona County also serves as a research hub partnering with universities for senior focused research.

New programs

The Westend Seniors Activity Centre did not launch any new programs in 2024. We continue to partner with other not-for-profit agencies providing space and coordinating joint programs for seniors. Additionally we engage the community/business sector to get involved with our members in whatever ways possible.
