Ongoing programs

Created by Parliament in 1970 IDRC has been committed in supporting research in developing countries undertaken by the people of those countries for their own development. IDRC has five areas of focus: Climate-Resilient Food Systems Global Health Education and Science Democratic and Inclusive Governance and Sustainable Inclusive Economies. The majority of IDRC's grants support developing country researchers often based in non-governmental organizations universities community groups and governments in poor countries. All grants support research that is applied to actions intended to benefit the poor through activities that seek to develop new technologies inform policy processes or to enhance the research capacity in developing countries.
