KHS VOLUNTEERS ACQUIRE DISPLAY RESEARCH INTERPRET CONSERVE AND PRESERVE TRAIN AND COLLABORATE WITH MUSEUM PROFESSIONALS TO TELL THE STORY OF KNEEHILL COUNTY AREA AND ITS PLACE IN WESTERN CANADIAN HISTORY. THE SOCIETY HAD UNDERTAKEN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CONNECTIONS BUILDING WHICH WILL LINK THE MAIN MUSEUM TO THE AGRICULTURAL SHED THEREBY PROVIDING YEAR-ROUND ACCESS TO THE EXTENSIVE AGRICULTURAL COLLECTION EVEN IN INCLEMENT WEATHER. THIS BUILDING ESTIMATED COST TO BE 1.2 MILLION TO FINISH WILL TAKE THE MUSEUM PROGRAMMING TO A WHOLE NEW INTERPRETIVE LEVEL WITH VIDEO CLIPS OF COMMUNITY HISTORICAL EVENTS PEOPLE AND PLACE SHOWN IN SEMINAR ROOM A CONSERVATION/PRESERVATION WORKSHOP AND AN AREA FOR COMMUNITY HISTORIES AND DISPLAYS ALL EXEMPLIFIED BY ARTEFACTS PICTURES PHOTOGRAPHS AND STORIES. SUMMER STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS WILL WORK TOWARDS THESE GOALS. A LONG TIME MEMBER AND RESIDENT OF THE AREA DONATED HER ESTATE TOWARDS THIS PROJECT.
