The Ottawa Hospital Auxiliary ('the Auxiliary') is a charitable organization whose mission is to enhance the quality of life of patients at The Ottawa Hospital • Civic General and Riverside Campus by supporting staff in the provision of care by providing retail services that address the needs of the hospital community and by providing financial support for patient care education and research programs. The Auxiliary’s business operations Include retail shops (La Boutique Gift Shop Auxiliary Shop) Breast Pump equipment rentals and sales commissions earned from third parties that operate food and beverage outlets at the General Civic and Riverside Campus. The retail operations of the Auxiliary are staffed primarily by a small team of salaried staff. The staff oversee operations and liaises with The Ottawa Hospital management. This staff comprises a Director of Business Operations a Retail manager an Accounting Officer an Inventory control and three cashiers. Five roles are full-time. The Auxiliary is accountable to a volunteer Board of Directors meets regularly with the Board and holds an Annual General Meeting with members.
