Gateway Resources Inc provides a range of vocational residential and job placement services to meet the needs of and to train individuals living with an intellectual disability which may also include a physical disability. Day Programs make the vocational and job placement services within the communities of Winkler and Morden a reality. The Woodroom operations involves the production of wooden crates and pallets by employees and the individuals we support and are ordered and sold to local industries. Curbside pickup of household recyclables is done for the City of Winkler for the purpose of raising revenue through the sales of products collected in the recyclable market. Residential services are made up of 17 group homes – 15 of which are owned by Gateway Resources in both Winkler and Morden. These homes provide a permanent home for the individuals to live and have shelter. Residential services also supports individuals in daily life skills to live independently. Gateway resources has a Senior Program for the aging population. Gateway Resources also provides Respite services for Families and Caregivers upon request. In addition to our regular day program and senior program Gateway Resources operated a Social Enterprise named Clay Owl and also has developed a Home Share program which continues to grow.
New programs
Gateway Resources is in the process of moving our Senior Program into a new location that is being built. The second level of the building will consist of 7 one bedroom apartments that will be used for our Supported Independent Living program. Gateway Resources is also in the process of building 2 new homes for our Residential division that will house individuals transitioning from MDC in Portage la Prairie. Both of these projects are expected to be completed by fall of 2024.
