For 50 years Victoria Women's Transition House Society has provided safe shelter counselling education and support for women of all ages with or without children to live free from violence and abuse in intimate relationships. We strive to prevent and eliminate violence and abuse through education advocacy and partnerships. Our collaborative efforts working together create hopeful futures. Our Programs: *24 hour staffed facility providing emergency shelter for abused women with or without children including counselling and support *24 hour crisis and information line providing crisis counselling and referrals *Stopping the Violence group and individual counselling for women also specializing in substance use *Children Who Witness Abuse/PEACE counselling groups camps and Violence is Preventable presentations for youth *Community Education for schools professionals and others on effects of intimate partner abuse family violence and prevention *Group and individual counselling for women 50+; safe home for older women leaving abusive relationships *Food Security Coordinator providing clients with support and education to increase food security within the community *Housing Outreach Worker support and assistance in securing affordable housing *Outreach Support Worker support to women in community who are leaving or waiting for services *Harrison Place transitional housing program for women 45-65 who have left an abusive relationship providing on-site support and programming *Homeless Prevention Program providing transitional rent and related subsidies to abused women and their children at risk of homelessness *Spousal Assault Victim Support and Family Law Advocacy Program assisting women through the justice system *Regional Domestic Violence Unit working with Police and Ministry of Children and Family Development supporting high risk victims and children
