THE BACH ELGAR CHORAL SOCIETY IS A COMMUNITY BASED AMATEUR SYMPHONIC CHOIR WITH A MISSION TO ACHIEVE A HIGH LEVEL OF ARTISTIC QUALITY WHILE PRESENTING THE MAJOR CHORAL REPERTOIRES OF PAST ERAS AND ACTIVELY ADVANCING THE CANADIAN CHORAL TRADITIONS. IT PROVIDES A PERFORMING VENUE FOR COMMUNITY SINGERS FROM A WIDE RANGE OF BACKGROUNDS AND EXPERIENCE INSTILLING IN ITS MEMBERS A LIFE LONG APPRECIATION OF CHORAL MUSIC. THE CHOIR ADDITIONALLY SUPPORTS THE COMMUNITY BY SINGING FOR NO FEE AT VARIOUS COMMUNITY CHARITABLE EVENTS IF CALLED UPON. THE CHOIR CONDUCTS FROM TIME TO TIME COMMUNITY CHORAL WORKSHOPS.. IT ALSO OFFERS CHORAL SCHOLARSHIPS TO PROMOTE YOUNG SINGERS (18-24) TO CONTINUE THEIR INTEREST IN CHORAL MUSIC. THE SOCIETY HAS THE SUPPORT OF AROUND 41 VOLUNTEERS CONTRIBUTING SOME 1 323 HOURS VALUED AT $27 783. THESE VOLUNTEERS INCLUDE BOARD MEMBERS VARIOUS PROGRAMME SUPPORT COMMITTEES FUND RAISING SUPPORT AND PREPARING FACILITIES FOR CONCERT PERFORMANCES

THE BACH ELGAR CHORAL SOCIETY WILL CONTINUE TO GROW ITS REACH RELEVANCE AND REPUTATION IN THE HAMILTON COMMUNITY BY MEANS OF A NEWLY EXPANDED SOCIAL MEDIA INITIATIVE. WITH A VIEW TO ATTRACTING AND ENGAGING A LARGER AND MORE DIVERSE AUDIENCE THE SOCIETY HAS HIRED A MEDIA CONSULTANT MEMBER OF THE STAFF TEAM. THROUGH THIS INITIATIVE THE SOCIETY ALSO AIMS TO GROW AND DIVERSIFY ITS SINGERS VOLUNTEERS AND BOARD MEMBERSHIPS.
