CANADA'S SPORTS HALL OF FAME

Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame (CSHoF) is more than a Hall of Fame—it’s a national institution and registered charitable organization dedicated to preserving celebrating and sharing the profound impact of sport on Canada’s identity. Since 1955 CSHoF has served as the country’s only national museum of sport honouring the Athletes Builders and Trailblazers who have achieved greatness in competition and inspire change strengthen communities and lead with purpose. As the home of Canada’s highest sporting honour the Order of Sport we recognize individuals who embody the values that unite our nation. Representing the breadth of Canadian sport—all disciplines generations and backgrounds—we strive to ensure the diverse voices and stories of sport leaders are amplified. CSHoF is the true heartbeat of Canadian sport. We are more than a place of recognition; we are a trusted storyteller. Through curation education and recognition we bring the journeys of sport leaders to life—ensuring their influence extends beyond the playing field. We’re not just preserving history; we’re inviting Canadians to engage with it learn from it and be inspired by it. From national education programs and digital exhibits to public nominations for the Order of Sport we actively connect with Canadians of all ages reinforcing why sport matters as a force for inclusion leadership and national pride. Our Mission Empowering the pivotal role sport plays in shaping Canada’s future by: • Recognizing role models • Strengthening communities • Inspiring future generations. In 2024 we engaged 6 079 educators who work with 1 001 445 youth — a total of 1 007 524 participants across Canada representing over 1 200 schools. Our National Education Programs reach every province and territory as well as 90 countries internationally. Approximately 18% of this impact was in Ontario reaching over 180 000 participants. These programs are delivered at no cost to schools. The Sport in Motion Exhibit currently displayed at the base of the Calgary Tower in Calgary AB has been viewed by 115 508 since it was installed in September 2023.

In 2024 we displayed a kiosk at two Calgary Public Library locations during the month of June featuring the Indigenous Sport Heroes Education Experience as part of National Indigenous History Month. The total number of viewers was 124 306 In 2024 we ran the Storytelling Series livestreams as part of National Indigenous History Month rather than on National Indigenous Peoples Day. These live streams fall under CSHoF’s National Education Programs. On October 19 2024 Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame hosted the 68th Annual Order of Sport Awards to 9 incredible athletes builders and trailblazers. A combined media reach of 366 million was achieved in connection with the announcement and induction. As the stewards of the Order of Sport – Canada's highest sporting honour – we induct a diverse class of Athletes Builders and Trailblazers each year joining over 750 Hall of Famers across nearly 80 sports. Through their journeys artefacts and values we engage 1 in 5 Canadians and inspire over 1.4 million youth including over 1M in 2024 alone empowering the pivotal role sport history plays in shaping Canada's future. We inspire educate and unite our nation through the invaluable lessons of sport shaping a stronger and more cohesive Canada.
