As a United Church we worship God as known through Jesus Christ. We hold worship services weekly at church and monthly at a Seniors housing complex; provide religious training & education through children's Sunday programs youth & young adult groups and ongoing adult bible study Christian fellowship & pastoral care to the community through hospital visits family counseling & helping with community programs. Our faith is an inclusive church open and respectful of sexual orientations and identity. We conduct baptisms confirmations weddings & funerals. Our Thrift Shop offers affordable used clothing & household items to those in need; having a very mindful attitude of the environment by recycling and donating to an unusable textile company that recycles unusable clothing into industrial rags. We support financially & prayerfully The United Church of Canada's Mission and Service Fund which supports relief projects and human rights concerns in Canada and globally for those in need. We support several registered Canadian charities whose work broadens our religious education & activities including Christian summer camps for underprivileged children in northern Canada women's & youth shelters justice & peacemaking spiritual deepening and healing. We are moved to increase our understanding of Christ's good news & share it with others.
New programs
Thrift Shop extended last year the recycling donations with a second organization as the Covid pandemic has ended and our donations have greatly increased during this fiscal year. This allowed us to in turn to have greater sales and the ability to donate to other charities needing goods that we could not use. With our finances improved we could donate more financial amounts to charities that were needing help. Board Chair Shannon Taylor
