Ongoing programs

The KGH Foundation funds facilitates & promotes activities which improve the provision of health and health care to those living within the southern interior of BC and within the referral area of the Kelowna General Hospital (KGH). The KGH Foundation funds facilitates & promotes activities which improve the provision of health and health care to those living within the southern interior of BC and within the referral area of the Kelowna General Hospital (KGH). Donations endowments trusts sponsorship property bequests and social enterprise revenues are generated to invest in health care services provided by Interior Health at Kelowna General Hospital; Cottonwoods Extended Care Home; Brookhaven Care Home; Three Links Manor; David Lloyd Jones care homes; the Central Okanagan Hospice House; Urgent Primary Care Centres Outreach Centre's and other services through out the Interior of BC. Funds are also directed towards community organizations offering health services and health promotion activities within our region including but not limited to external agencies were funded to provide mental health care services youth health and well-being programs health research projects and scholarships for post-secondary students studying in the health services field. All funding is managed through a granting program managed by the Foundation and overseen by the Board of Directors. In addition KGH Foundation operates and fundraises for JoeAnna's House a 20-bedroom home on hospital campus providing accommodation for families of KGH patients who need to travel to Kelowna for specialized medical care. Foundation programs are supported by 300 volunteers who together contribute over 50 000 hours providing service to help run multiple social enterprises including a bistro coffee shop vending gift shop and a thrift store.
