Littlewood worship services are held at 9:30 am on Sundays. With our small numbers everyone has a role to play and is always willing to participate. It might include taking part in our skits preparing and serving Communion decorating for each season throughout the year or managing the affairs of our beautiful 130 year old country church building . Our summer outdoor services with St. Andrew's Westminster United Church are truly wonderful. The outdoor experience on our back lawn and the community comradery of our two church congregations along with the inspirational messaging from Rev. Sue combine to make those services unique and fun! Littlewood conducts communion services in a local senior's home several times a year. This year we supported global emergencies such as the relief efforts for Sudanese refugee camps and the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. 2024 marked out second year of not growing a crop for donation to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank but we managed another successful fundraiser for this worthy organization through a mail out appeal to our church members and the community. Closer to home we supported the local food banks with 3 collection campaigns during the year as well as quarterly cash donations. Quarterly donations were also made to My Sister's Place a non profit organization offering a safe place to women in crisis. Besides monetary donations church members knit and donated hats mitts and scarves sleepwear and socks during the Christmas Season for 'Life Spin' in London where they were distributed to the needy.
New programs
Our church services are greatly enhanced through the use of PowerPoint slides shown on an overhead screen. Recorded music for several parts of our service such as the opening hymn and the Anthem are provided by the St. Andrew's Westminster United Church Choir at our sister church. They have recently invested in new sound and video recording equipment to be able to provide this music to us and to be able to record and share their services online through YouTube. We were able to assist this ministry of St. Andrew's Westminster by donating to the cost of their new equipment in 2024.
