FEED NOVA SCOTIA SOCIETY (METRO FOOD BANK SOCIETY - NOVA SCOTIA) OPERATING AS FEED NOVA SCOTIA IS A CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION WHOSE MISSION IS TO PARTNERE TO TO CREATE SYSTEMIC CHANGES WHILE WHILE RESPONDING TO THE IMMEDIATE NEED FOR DIGNIFIED SECURE AND JUST ACCESS TO FOOD. A KEY FOCUS FOR THE SOCIETY IS TO COLLECT AND DISTRIBUTE FOOD TO 140 MEMBER AGENCIES ACROSS THE PROVINCE INCLUDING FOOD BANKS SHELTERS DROP-IN CENTRES AND OTHER MEAL PROGRAMS. THE SOCIETY ALSO RAISES AWARENESS OF THE SYSTEMIC ISSUES LEADING TO FOOD INSECURITY AND ADVOCATES FOR LONG-TERM SOLUTIONS.
