The Norwood United Church as part of the Norwood Westwood Pastoral Charge offers weekly religious Sunday Services. The church community continues to support the local food bank and provides the venue and catering for a monthly Diner's Club luncheon as well as providing a meeting space for the local chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous. The Youth Group and Teen Group are monthly supper clubs with focused religious and spiritual discussions led by the Minister. The Sunday School program is delivered by a volunteer leader and offers the 'Godly Play' curriculum to encourage the younger church members to wonder at the stories and teachings of the United Church. The adult community is invited weekly to attend informal coffee mornings at the church and monthly there is a supper club hosted by the Minister to take a deeper dive into religious spiritual and philosophical texts.
New programs
The Minister led a spring time after school 'Acting Up Drama Club' geared towards children and youth aged eight years old and over. The play was an adaptation of 'The Alchemist' and it was presented to the congregation as well as a large number of community members. Members of the congregation volunteered at the local 'Showcase Asphodel Norwood' event in June as part of the Pastoral Charge display table. Volunteers also attended the 'Norwood Pride' afternoon in July and hosted a display table alongside members of the Pastoral Charge.
