Ongoing programs
CommunityWise Resource Centre is a nonprofit hub that for 40 years has existed to support and strengthen diverse grassroots groups and nonprofit organizations through our central location in the historic Old YWCA Building. We provide affordable office and community space backbone infrastructure (shared internet mailboxes office equipment) and collaborative capacity-building programming to about seventy member organizations. We also engage in a wide array of community and nonprofit sector development work with a focus on anti-racism and equity.
New programs
We've continued the multi-year 'Advancing the Commons' program generously funded by The Calgary Foundation. This initiative provided office and meeting spaces as well as support services prioritizing Indigenous Black racialized harm reduction and LGBTQ+ agencies in Calgary. By doing so it fosters post-pandemic recovery for vulnerable populations and the agencies that serve them.
