VOLUNTEERS HOST STAR PARTY OBSERVING EVENTS AND PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL INSTRUCTION AND RESOURCES TO FAMILIES STUDENTS AND YOUTH. MORE THAN 100 000 PEOPLE ATTEND ASTRONOMY ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS ANNUALLY. EFFORTS ARE MADE TO REDUCE EXCESSIVE LIGHTING AND RASC CERTIFIES CANADA S DARK SKY PRESERVES. PUBLICATIONS INCLUDE THE OBSERVER S HANDBOOK AND JOURNAL.
