The Spiritual Assembly Of The Bahá’í’s of Peterborough is an elected governing body comprising of individual members of the Peterborough Bahá’í community. The Spiritual Assembly Of The Bahá’í’s of Peterborough is an elected governing body comprising of individual members of the Peterborough Bahá’í community. This governing body serves as an administrative institution responsible to coordinate and facilitate various activities of the Peterborough Bahá’í community. The primary objective of the Peterborough Bahá’í community is to actively participate in community life and contribute to the betterment of society. Through their actions and interactions they strive to exemplify the teachings of Baháʼu'lláh and promote unity justice equality and the harmony of religion and science. The Bahá’í community in Peterborough endeavors to share the teachings of Baháʼu'lláh with individuals from all walks of life. They organize and participate in various educational programs such as: • Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program: including community service projects for children aged 12-14 years to develop their talents positively express themselves and become empowered to transform their community. • Children’s Festivals: featuring educational activities for children where their moral and spiritual education assumes vital importance. • Devotional Gatherings: where Bahá’í and their friends and families unite with one another in prayer. • Study Circles: where youth and adults gather to develop spiritual qualities—for example truthfulness generosity purity of heart and kindness to name a few. The goal is for people to understand and act upon the imperative to tend to their own spiritual development and contribute to the well-being of society. • Cluster Reflection Meetings: where community members meet with other communities to reflect on the goals of the community in three-month cycles. • Youth Movement: where young Bahá’í guided by the Head of the Bahá’í Faith the Universal House of Justice arise to the call of Baháʼu'lláh to serve humanity. • Nineteen Day Feasts: where the Bahá’í community holds meetings in every locality. These gatherings serve as the bedrock of Bahá’í community life. • Holy Day Celebrations: where Bahá’í and their friends and families meet to commemorate important anniversaries in the history of the Bahá’í Faith. • Institutional Development: Through consultation significant attention is given to the development of the Bahá’í community’s administrative structures and the refinement of its associated processes.
