Ongoing programs

THE PURPOSE IS TO CONTINUE THE OPERATION OF A UKRAINIAN CATHOLIC PARISH IN THE CITY OF RED DEER ALBERTA BY FUNDING THE OPERATING EXPENSES AND MAINTAINING THE FACILITY. THE UKRAINIAN DISPLACED PERSONS PLANNING COMMITTEE (UDPPC) WAS ESTABLISHED IN MARCH 2022 TO AID DISPLACED PERSONS AND FAMILIES FLEEDING THE WAR IN UKRAINE. A FUND HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED TO SUPPORT UKRAINIAN DISPLACED FAMILIES IN THEIR RELOCATION TO AND INTEGRATION IN CENTRAL ALBERTA.

New programs

A UKRAINIAN HERITAGE SCHOOL WAS ESTABLISHED IN 2024 FOR CHILDREN AGES 6-12 IN RED DEER AND CENTRAL ALBERTA. THE PURPOSE OF A UKRANIAN HERITAGE SCHOOL IN CENTRAL ALBERTA IS TO INCREASE THE PRESENCE OF SPOKEN UKRAINIAN AMONG CHILDREN AS WELL AS RAISE AWARENESS OF THE BEAUTY OF THE UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE WITHIN THE BRAODER COMMUNITY THROUGH CONCERTS SINGING AND COMMUNITY FIELD TRIPS. IT ALSO OFFERS UKRANIAN AND CANADIAN PARENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET AND NETWORK EXPLORING WAYS TO COLLABORATE AND STRENGTHEN THE UKRAINIAN COMMUNITY IN RED DEER AND CENTRAL ALBERTA.
