Ongoing programs

Ongoing education and mentoring programs were suspended during the pandemic years and have now begun to resume. Progress has been made this year on moving forward with the development of a Mavor Moore Theatre Society Playwright Award at Langara College Studio 58 a cash award to support an emerging Canadian playwright. Working with the Langara Studio 58 staff this program is to be implemented in the coming year.

New programs

Development of a one-person play celebrating the life of Mavor Moore starring distinguished actor/director Bernard Cuffling. The project is currently in an initial stage of researching Mavor Moore's biography and body of work to develop an outline for the script. The Society’s founder Elizabeth Ball will be working with Mr. Cuffling on the script development. Participation in the workshop & production of the new play is currently in discussion with Western Gold Theatre. We will continue our relationship with the Firehall Theatre. - Increase the society's online presence beyond the existing Show more
