Ongoing programs

The Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra is a full symphonic orchestra whose members are amateur musicians and students. The members perform in and manage the orchestra as volunteers. Five concerts of orchestral mostly classical music are typically presented each year often featuring talented solo performers from the Vancouver area. A variety of music is presented to audiences in several different settings to share our love of music with the community. The Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra is a full symphonic orchestra whose members are amateur musicians and students. The members perform in and manage the orchestra as volunteers. Five concerts of orchestral mostly classical music are typically presented each year often featuring talented solo performers from the Vancouver area. A variety of music is presented to audiences in several different settings to share our love of music with the community. VPO coordinates with other community groups to present joint concerts in some years. During the 2023-24 fiscal year the orchestra presented a full 5-concert program. In February 2024 we were pleased to feature the young musician who won first place in our 2023 concerto festival. The VPO also provides a mentorship program for an aspiring conductor to gain experience as our Assistant Conductor under the guidance of the Music Director.
