Ongoing programs
We operate a 186-seat theatre on Granville Island in Vancouver BC with up to nine live performances per week at full capacity. Our core programming is improvised and original and is highly dependent on the input and participation of audience members. Our show formats are developed and created by our ensemble members. We host performances and workshops at our venue for schools within Metro Vancouver and to other schools in the province when the opportunities arise. We operate a 186-seat theatre on Granville Island in Vancouver BC with up to nine live performances per week at full capacity. Our core programming is improvised and original and is highly dependent on the input and participation of audience members. Our show formats are developed and created by our ensemble members. We host performances and workshops at our venue for schools within Metro Vancouver and to other schools in the province when the opportunities arise. We run an accessible beginners drop-in workshop every Saturday afternoon and host a full suite of progressive classes on the weekends. We perform at many special events throughout the year performing discounted and/or free shows to other charities non-profits and community organizations. We make our theatre available to other artistic groups at no or below market cost wherever possible including presenting local comedy troupes. We provide discounts and free tickets to charities students seniors and community groups.
New programs
For the period of March 1 2023 to February 29 2024: - We performed 402 original improvised shows at our theatre The Improv Centre. All of these shows are unscripted Canadian content. - We performed to over 52 000 people. - We hosted 72 improv classes and workshops for over 700 students. - We offered $4428 in financial aid for classes to keep our education program as accessible as possible. - We donated 372 tickets to schools non-profits and charities. - We mounted 12 original improvised shows: Choose Day Date Night Friday Jr Bring Back the 90’s Tall Tales TIC’s Pride Race Stage F… Show more
