Ongoing programs
THE SEDGEWICK & DISTRICT LIBRARY PROVIDES THE GENERAL PUBLIC WITH EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES WITH THE USE OF COMPUTERS TO RESEARCH INFORMATION ON THE SUPER-NET AND INTER-NET. WE CONTINUE TO RUN PROGRAMS FOR MOTHER AND YOUNG CHILDREN AS WELL AS FOR SENIORS IN THE COMMUNITY. THE PAST YEAR WE HAVE PARTNER-SHIPPED WITH FAMILY SERVICES AND PROVIDED WORKSHOPS FOR ALL AGES ON MENTAL HEALTH AND SUPPORTING THE CAREGIVER AND SENIOR ABUSE. THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM FOR YOUNG PEOPLE WAS ALSO VERY POPULAR THIS PAST YEAR.

WE WILL BE CONTINUING TO REACH OUT TO FAMILY SERVICES FOR PROGRAMS WHICH WILL HELP SUPPORT NEW FAMILIES IN OUR AREAS FROM COUNTRIES OUT SIDE OF CANADA. WE HOSTED A NOSTALGIA NIGHT WITH A GUEST SPEAKER FROM ENGLAND ON HOW HIS FAMILY HOMESTEADED IN OUR AREA IN THE EARLY 1900. WE ARE STILL WORKING ON THE INDIGENOUS SECTION IN OUR LIBRARY AND ARE ENCOURAGE CLIENTS BETTER UNDERSTAND OUR NATIVE PEOPLE.
