P.A.L.S. - PROJECT ADULT LITERACY SOCIETY IS A COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATION IN WHICH VOLUNTEERS FROM THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE MENTOR ADULTS WHO HAVE LITERACY CHALLENGES SO THAT THEY BECOME FUNCTIONALLY LITERATE. THE PROGRAMS ARE: LITERACY - READING WRITING AND COMPREHENSION; MATH LITERACY - BASIC MATH SKILLS FOR DAILY LIVING OR TO PASS AN ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR AN EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY; LITERACY FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS - READING WRITING SPEAKING AND LISTENING IN ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE; AND STUDENTS FOR STUDENTS - WORKSHOPS FOR DAILY LIVING.
