SEXUAL ASSAULT CENTRE (HAMILTON AND AREA)

1. Crisis Support Program provides 24 hour confidential anonymous telephone support for all genders who have experienced sexual violence and Support for friends families neighbours co-workers and classmates of survivors as well as professionals who may be supporting survivors and seeking information. We also provide accompaniments to hospital and police. This is provided mostly by volunteers who undergo 16 weeks of training. They provide over 7 000 hours of service in a year also offering online chatting and texting support for youth women and men survivors. 2. The Counselling Program offers confidential support services for survivors of sexual violence 16 years of age and older who have experienced sexual violence at any point in their lives. 3. The Diverse Communities Outreach Program offers supportive programming for survivors of sexual violence from Hamilton’s diverse racial and cultural communities in particular women who are Black Indigenous Queer Trans People of Colour. 4. The Public Education Program offers exciting workshops and events that create space for people to explore prevention education for change and taking action to end sexual violence. 5. The Sex Trafficking Survivor Counselling Program offers free individual counselling group counselling and advocacy for survivors who have left sex trafficking at any point in their lives and are 16 years of age and older.
