St Joseph's Conference - What we do Persons in need will call the church and leave a voice mail requesting help usually food assistance On a weekly basis a member is assigned to monitor the calls. He or she will listen to the message then phone the caller and discuss their situation. If we can help arrange for a home visit if not direct the caller to the proper authorities or agencies in the neighborhood. Clothing & small houshold items - National thrift store gift cards Walmart gift cards and Presto tickets if needed for transportation. Furniture - Beds and tables - Supplied by SSVP thrift store or the Salvaton Army thrift store. Other item requests - Obtained locally Other Activities Spring - Camp applications for boys and girls Spring & Fall - Bundleup weekends - Collection of used clothing shoes and linens for use by our society. Excess amounts sold in bulk to National Thrift stores. Summer & fall - Provide back to school help by the way of walmart gift cards for children attending school. Fall - Provide 'Winter coats for Kids' co-sponsored with the Knights of Columbus. Winter - Christmas Appeal - Provide PC & Walmart gift cards to families in need for food and toys for the kids. Man the poor boxes at the church.
