Ongoing programs
• Held an AGM. Elections • In-person meetings except for instances of weather conducted on ZOOM. Educational speakers on historical topics advertised and open to the public. Topics oncalendar of events and Facebook page. Attendance 30 - 40 persons.• Presented four Grade 8 history awards.• History scholarships at three high schools.• Produced a historical calendar with the theme of Family Milestones.• Participated in Marshville Heritage Festival the Wainfleet Farmers’ Market and Wainfleet Christmas Markets. New programs
• Create a perennial garden at the Cenotaph. Cost to be shared with the Township of Wainfleet. Work done by WHS volunteers.• Work with the Township of Wainfleet and the Wainfleet Library to establish the Wainfleet Archives room when further progress becomes possible.• As two public elementary schools in Wainfleet are closing and will merge into one new school we are working with school administration to collect and preserve items/information of historical interest from these schools.• Planned for June 2024 is a group outing to Heartland Forest in Niagara Falls.
