Quest exists to disrupt cycles of food insecurity through access to healthy and affordable food. By bridging the gap between food banks and traditional grocery stores Quest provides a grocery experience based on principles of dignity access and sustainability. Almost all of Quest’s food is donated by local food partners from across British Columbia and delivered across our five Metro Vancouver markets in Burnaby Surrey North Vancouver East Vancouver and the Downtown Eastside. Quest exists to disrupt cycles of food insecurity through access to healthy and affordable food. By bridging the gap between food banks and traditional grocery stores Quest provides a grocery experience based on principles of dignity access and sustainability. Almost all of Quest’s food is donated by local food partners from across British Columbia and delivered across our five Metro Vancouver markets in Burnaby Surrey North Vancouver East Vancouver and the Downtown Eastside. Whether donated or purchased all products sold at Quest Markets are priced the same based on a set of principles and the understanding that economic participation is key to disrupting cycles of food insecurity. All cost recovery generated through the distribution of our food and groceries along with our non-profit fundraising efforts cycle back into the organization in service to our mission referring partners and client communities. OUR ONGOING AND NEW PROGRAMS Shopping With Dignity Fund What Sets Quest Apart: A Grocery Shopping Experience with Dignity Quest stands out for its unique approach to addressing food insecurity. Unlike traditional food banks we offer a pricing model that empowers our clients to choose the food they need when they need it without the stigma of a handout. At Quest clients can shop with dignity selecting items from our shelves just as they would in any other grocery store — and at prices that allow them to make choices without the burden of financial stress. Grocery Essentials Program Ensuring Access to Essential Dairy and Protein Products for Our Clients At Quest we are committed to providing our clients with access to nutritious and culturally appropriate food. To achieve this we actively build partnerships with grocery retailers local farm producers and food distributors. Through a combination of food donations and purchasing agreements supported by the funds we raise as a non-profit organization we ensure a reliable and diverse food supply. Without them there is no Quest. The success of our Non-Profit Grocery Markets depends on the smooth day-to-day operations that serve our community and it’s through our Market Appreciation Program that we are able to make this possible. Safe Spaces at Quest Program How We Ensure Safe and Welcoming Spaces for Our Clients Employees and Volunteers At Quest the safety of our clients staff and volunteers is at the heart of our service model. With over 10 000 active clients 70+ dedicated staff members and 300+ volunteers we are committed to creating a secure and welcoming environment for all who rely on our non-profit grocery markets. The Safe Spaces at Quest Program is designed to prioritize the physical emotional and cultural safety of everyone who interacts with our organization.
