M.L.E. TRAINING AND RESEARCH SOCIETY

M.L.E. Training and Research Society operates Greater Heights Learning Academy (GHLA); and Variety Learning Centre (VLC). GHLA offers full time kindergarten to grade 12 school programs using Mediated learning techniques to assist children with special needs and learning disabilities. The school offers the regular Dogwood graduation diploma and the Evergreen high school completion certificate. We also provide therapy services including; speech language therapy occupational therapy physiotherapy and counselling. VLC offers a variety of services including summer school programs for special needs children and children with learning disabilities. A support program for parents/guardians of the children we educate. We offer individual and small group tutoring and assessments. We also offer training and consultation for professionals and others in Mediated Learning. We often have requests for volunteer positions to help in our classes hours are determined by the individual and their schedule. Our volunteers often come back the following year to work as an employee with us. We work with local colleges to provide practicum work experience for their students they can be with us for periods of between 4-8 weeks and they work a regular daily shift throughout their practicum stay with us. This year we had 14 practicum students.
