Raise awareness and educate the public about the dangers of impaired driving through: public service announcements (television radio print); social media campaigns; posters and billboards; media interviews; community events; and other activities. Raise awareness and educate the public about the dangers of impaired driving through: public service announcements (television radio print); social media campaigns; posters and billboards; media interviews; community events; and other activities. Support victims/survivors through: one-on-one support from trained Victim Services personnel and volunteers including: a 1-800 Victim Support line; information and support with court/legal proceedings; online support groups; extensive print and video resources; Hosted National Conference for Victims of Impaired Driving and Candlelight Vigil; victim tributes memorial wall and provincial memorial monuments; and post-secondary school bursaries for victims/survivors. Deliver educational programming for youth including: the School Program for Grades 7-12; Additionally: distribute a variety of educational videos and posters to elementary middle and high schools. Host National Leadership Conference for volunteers. Conduct national awareness campaigns to prevent impaired driving including: Project Red Ribbon campaign across Canada to share the sober driving message during the holiday season; and Campaign 911 (roads and waterways) to encourage the public to call 911 if they see a driver or boater they suspect is impaired. Conduct research and analysis around the rates of impaired driving trends and best practices around deterrence and prevention. Conduct 'Impaired Driver Caught Here / Call 911' sign program and 'Crashed Car' awareness displays in various municipalities around the country. Host Police Awards to recognize the efforts of police officers to take impaired drivers off the roads in Nova Scotia British Columbia Alberta Newfoundland and Labrador Saskatchewan and the Yukon.

Such technology has the potential to virtually eliminated alcohol-impaired driving. • Developed and delivered new 2023-2024 School Program to schools across the country for students in grades 7-12. New names of impaired driving victims added to existing Memorial Monuments in Quebec Nova Scotia Newfoundland and Labrador New Brunswick Manitoba Alberta and Saskatchewan. • Promoted sober driving messaging and interactive campaigns across all MADD Canada social media channels including: A Candle For Signs of Summer Project Red Ribbon and Boating awareness campaign targeted to boaters in NS. • Over 100 permanent Call 911 boating signs were distributed to encourage the public to call 911 to report impaired boaters. • Developed new PSA for Boating: LifeJacket. • Meetings were held with law enforcement leaders and elected officials across the country to discuss the findings of the MADD Canada National Scan of police services on their usage of mandatory alcohol screening and roadside oral fluid testing. • MADD Canada called on the Canadian government to make in-car technology to prevent impaired driving a standard feature in all new vehicles. Our activities included meetings with Ministers government officials Senators and an online petition with the Parliament of Canada and a microsite was created to educate the public about in-car technology. • During Impaired Driving Prevention Week MADD Canada and victims and survivors of impaired driving met virtually with select Members of Parliament Senators and a Provincial Minister of Transportation. MADD Canada shared stories of loss and injuries and asked officials to support making impaired driving prevention technology standard in all new vehicles. • MADD Canada played a proactive role in the Impaired Driving Coalition of Canada and continues to collaborate with other road safety organizations and advocates.
