1) Literacy Program - It is also called The BRIDGE Program - Books for Building Readers Inspire Dreamers and Grow Empowered Learners. 1a) Collect used books from schools private individuals and other non-profit organizations in Southern Ontario Canada. This work is done by the trustees. This year we collected 296 boxes (11'x18'x7') of books. 1) Literacy Program - It is also called The BRIDGE Program - Books for Building Readers Inspire Dreamers and Grow Empowered Learners. 1a) Collect used books from schools private individuals and other non-profit organizations in Southern Ontario Canada. This work is done by the trustees. This year we collected 296 boxes (11'x18'x7') of books. We also include clothings toys and other materials school children could use. 1b) Sort pack and ship books other learning materials and used clothing to schools in the Philippines. This work is done by the trustees and volunteers. This year we shipped 39 boxes (24'x24'x18' boxes) of books and 2 boxes of used clothings & other materials to 36 schools in different parts of the Philippines. Each box contained approximately 250-350 books. 1c) Deliver books to beneficiary schools in the Philippines. Most of our partner schools receive their books directly from the shipping company. Others are delivered by our volunteers. 1d) Review applications for school partnerships. This is done by the Trustees. This year we added 30 new partner schools bringing our total school partners for literacy to 213. 1e) Track progress of the reading programs of school partners. On the first 2 years of partnerships we closely monitor the reading activities. 2) Bursary Program -Grants are for secondary and post secondary education in the Philippines. This year we supported 4 university students and 2 elementary students. Funds were directly given to the beneficiaries. 3) Free School Supplies Program - Distribute assorted school materials to students in rural schools in the Philippines. This year we had 4 beneficiary schools. This activity is done by both the trustees and volunteers. 4) Feeding Program -Conduct school based feeding activities in the Philippines. This year we had 23 feeding sessions in 6 beneficiary schools . Activities were done by volunteers (teachers and parents). 5) Outreach Program -Visit partner schools to check on their Reading Centers evaluate their Reading Programs review the progress of the literacy program interact with students reward student achievers in Reading consult with teachers/schools and review the schools' other needs. During the outreach activities for our Literacy Free School Supplies and Feeding Programs are also conducted. The Trustees together with volunteers did an outreach to 8 schools in the Philippines.
