CANADA VIRTUOUS WOMEN (CAVIWO)

1. CAVIWO hosts 2 weekly virtual faith based financial literacy and capacity building meetings every Tuesday and Thursday and a virtual monthly retreat on the first weekend of every month providing psycho-social and holistic counselling to support widows children Single Parents and women's spiritual emotional and mental health needs. Guest speakers from around the world are invited to share messages of encouragement and faith during our virtual weekly meetings and retreats. A total of 105 virtual meetings and 12 virtual retreats in 2024 using our dedicated ZOOM platform. 2. CAVIWO welcomes women from diverse cultural and faith backgrounds into its events mentorship and community programs creating a space for intercultural dialogue. 3. In Canada we support immigrant and refugee women with employment advice and direction to ease integration while honoring their unique identities. CAVIWO also provides culturally sensitive spiritual and psychosocial support addressing the specific needs of women from varied backgrounds especially women facing domestic violence. 4. We participate in the yearly Black History month celebration in different churches throughout the month of February. 5. In November each year CAVIWO collaborates with Hope For Her Global to make our voices heard during the 16 days of activism against gender based violence (GBV) on social media. 6. ANNUAL GIRLS TALK a conversation with women of different backgrounds on the challenges faced in homes schools and workplaces. 7. Sponsorship of end of year dinner for the Black Student Leaders of the University of Ottawa 8. International Outreach: CAVIWO promoted education and relieve poverty in communities in Cameroon and Nigeria through partnerships and outreach programs carried out by over 25 volunteers to empower women through training programs and back to school supplies for children. Through various international outreaches in Cameroon and Nigeria. CAVIWO fosters global sisterhood and celebrates the richness of cultural diversity through the celebration of international days (international widows day widow’s day world children’s day world diabetes day) advance religion through a yearly faith base international LOVER-GIRL conference in August 2024 educative workshops on menstrual hygiene capacity building mental health workshops and Sept. 15 & 16 Baking training in ABIA STATE Nov. 20th world children’s day and Dec. 27 peanut baking training

Promotes multiculturalism and diversity and unite against racism: Sponsored by the Government of Canada CAVIWO completed a project to promote multiculturalism diversity and unite against racism both virtually and in-person. On the 11th of May 2025 CAVIWO celebrated Mother’s Day with the Community of Rankin Inlet Nunavut. We resume our post-pandemic In-person occasional meetings and retreats hosted by members and sometimes at community centers and church halls. collaborative 'Girl's Talk' Event (August 2025): In partnership with the Kingdom Men's Organization CAVIWO will host an event addressing the challenges of parenting in a digital-oriented world promoting dialogue and shared strategies among parents. Mental Health Excursion (September 2025):A mental health-focused excursion is scheduled for CAVIWO members to promote well-being relaxation and community bonding. Weekly Bible Study Gathering for CAVIWO Kids: Since February 2025 CAVIWO has been organizing weekly virtual Bible study sessions for children. These sessions hold every Saturday via Zoom aim to provide an engaging and supportive environment for young participants to learn about spiritual teachings engage in faith-based discussions and build a strong foundation in their religious beliefs. CAVIWO operates a Virtual Health Challenge Platform; a dynamic interactive initiative designed to promote physical health mental wellness and nutritional awareness among its members. Through this platform members across various regions engage in friendly health challenges that include activities such as walking jogging strength training stretching routines and more. The health challenges are designed to be both motivating and competitive encouraging participants to set personal goals track their progress and celebrate their achievements within a supportive community. A special focus is placed on raising awareness about the effects of menopause.
