LIVE: Joyful Muse (May 2024: 3 Performances by Violin/Cello DUO a professional ensemble performing a program of music by underrepresented composers (women women of colour) with interactive engagement with audience through discussion and social opportunities exploring 'new' music and contemporary classical music from alternate culture (Chinese and Afro American as well as traditional western composers) in traditional and alternate venues LIVE: All Terrain Tour (Sept 2024): 3 public outreach performances by professional string quartet with instructional discussion in 3 venues incl free admission one out of doors two inside with repeat attenders interactive from the stage and notes prepared by QSCM's music education specialists. Venues – traditional and alternate COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP and OUTREACH via: RADIO PROGRAMMING: Partnership with Loyalist College Radio developed. 'Classical Pirate Radio' broadcasts weekly and is available by live stream. The theme: 'Making Classical Music New and New Music Classical' presenting classical music in the context of educational introductions and interviews with professional classical musicians. Hosted by QSCM professional musician volunteers. All programming advertised widely on QSCM's web site social media platforms and community news bulletins as well as through postering and mail box flyer delivery in order to access the widest possible audience across the community. OUTREACH AND COMMUNICATION: The QSCM blog a series of educational articles and discussion about all things classical music supported by and advertised through the QSCM bi-weekly newsletter and social media continue to maintain and develop community connection towards nurturing grass roots support for classical music and developing the connection between Canada's classical musicians and local people . DIVERSITY: QSCM met diversity objectives presenting artists and works from diverse cultural backgrounds at both live events and in radio broadcasting contexts. QSCM continues to explore new ideas towards expanding our audience and our performance programming towards inclusion and cultural breadth. QSCM continues to work with local venues towards developing new ways of introducing people to the music and the musicians
