Bandula Abeysundara Charity Trust

Following new projects were started and completed during 2024 in Sri Lanka: 1. Volunteers of the Charity Trust participated in an Educational Conference organized by the University of Vavuniya Sri Lanka and presented a Conference Paper titled 'Charity and Volunteer Initiatives in Charitable Projects' in Sept. 2024. 2. Following books on Buddha Dhamma were purchased for free distribution among Sri Lankans interested in learning about Buddha Dhamma: 'Nivan Dakeemata Upakara Wana Parama Pavitra Siri Saddharmaya' (15 Copies) Rahula Kumara Sutta (1 copy) Gothama Budun Wedasiti Dambadiwa (1 copy). Most of these were freely distributed among the interested participants during a week long Buddha Dhamma Retreat held in Mirigama Parama Nibbana Dhammayathana in Aug-Sept 2024. 3. Donated 13 desktop computer systems (including: color monitors keyboards mice and uninterruptible power supplies) to following schools: Medawelagama School (5 systems) Badulla; Paynter Memorial School (6 systems) Nuwara Eliya; and Gonagala Maha Vidyalaya (2 systems Badulla. Additionally the following were donated to the Gonagala Maha Vidyalaya: sound system put shot Javelin drum. 4. Donated library books to Primary Tamil School Ohiya. The book list was provided by the School Principal in consultation with the teachers. 5. Completed a tube well project (including pump pipes and storage tanks) in Sri Upanandaramaya (a Buddhist temple) Welibissa Palgahathanna Badulla to supply drinking water to the temple as well as about 10-15 nearby households who did not have access to drinking water especially during the dry season. 6. Provided toilet facilities (for men & women) of the Seela Samithiya in Ilukthenna Village Badulla. They did not have any toilet facilities at their place of worship for use during religious activities. 7. Provided desks (35) and chairs (35) for use by students in Illipathuthenna School Demodara Passara together with movable wooden Class Separators (5) for use in the main hall occupied by several classes.
