From You To Them

2024 was our first active year. Starting in Summer 2024 we conducted four clothing/shoe drives in the GTA. Two were with the York Region Football Association where we showed up at two of their games. The other two were with the H&R property at 65 and 55 Wynford apartment complexes where we also showed up in person at both addresses. Additionally we shared postings and calls to action with friends family colleagues and neighbors to donate their clothes and shoes. We successfully collected over a couple of thousand items thanks to the kindness of our donors. In the Fall we began slowly asking for monetary donations to help prepare for two events planned for January 2025 with the Community Share Food Bank.

So far in 2025 we have conducted four distribution events at the Community Food Bank and we have our first event with North York Harvest on July 11th. In the coming months we intend to apply for a license to conduct raffles to help offset expenses as thus far over 90% of the costs have been paid out of pocket by the Directors. We plan to increase our distribution days in 2025 by working closely with North York Harvest and continuing our partnership with the Community Food Bank. We also intend to initiate the search for new partnerships. We also aim to provide more pickup options for those with limited mobility or difficulties reaching our drop-off locations.
