Rideau Chorale is a community choir in the National Capital Region dedicated to the musical development of its members the pursuit of artistic excellence and the presentation of beautiful music to the community. Founded in 2015 Rideau Chorale is an auditioned community choir that welcomes people from diverse musical backgrounds for the joy of singing challenging choral works together. Our goal is to stage professional quality concerts with the accompaniment of professional musicians. We continually strive to push the boundaries of what an amateur ensemble is capable of by developing choristers’ musical talents such as sight-reading and vocal performance. We are a volunteer-run organization but we engage a professional choir director and rehearsal accompanist. This supports our goal of promoting and enhancing public interest in and appreciation of choral music by producing well-prepared professional quality concerts that inspire pride and a sense of accomplishment in members and contribute meaningfully to the musical culture of the community at large. We provide membership to any singer who passes a basic audition for a fee. We hold weekly rehearsals to provide instruction on singing and choral techniques and to prepare performances of at least two major concerts each year. We produced and performed two concerts this fiscal year: 'Noël' in December 2023 and the 'Fauré Requiem' in April 2024.

New programs

We brought in top notch musicians to conduct several workshops to enhance our musical development as individuals and as an ensemble.
