Wings of Opportunity Foundation

The Wings of Opportunity Foundation is focused on providing financial assistance to young Canadians under 25 years old to advance post-secondary education in the field of commercial pilot licence (CPL) training. The foundation provides scholarships every fall/winter on an annual basis to selected applicants across Canada. Funds are intended to cover the costs of flight certification which take between a few weeks and a year or more to achieve. Canadian fight training organizations and flight schools provide the education and flight experience in areas such as theory of flight navigation meteorology and air law in order to assist recipients to obtain various flight certifications past the private pilot’s licence (PPL). Recipients may also have access to certified aircraft simulators located at Canadian flight schools and training organizations which can complement their operational flight experience. Theoretical courses and required dual flying time is provided by certified flight instructors who currently work in Canadian flight schools. Educational scholarships are offered to applicants under the age of 25 years old who hold a valid Canadian private pilot’s licence (PPL) and who are registered in a commercial pilot’s licence program at a Canadian flight school or training organization. The candidates are selected based on their academic abilities experience and achievements and professional aviation aspirations in Canada. Candidates are selected by the foundation’s national selection committee and no fees will be required to apply.
