FaithWorks Ministries

During the 2024 year FaithWorks Ministries continued to worship regularly together while also serving the residents of Gravenhurst with a focus on addressing the spiritual emotional and physical needs of older seniors in our community. Our specific activities included: 1) Providing weekly worship services in person online and in local retirement and long-term care residences 2) providing Bible studies in person online and in local retirement and long-term care residences (these studies included 5 part Lenten study 7 week study of 'The Purpose Driven Life' 6 week study of Kyle Idleman's 'Not a Fan' and a 7 week study of the 23rd Psalm. 3) Bi weekly prayer meetings online and in person 4) Participate in local eccumenical ministerial 6) provide pastoral and crisis care 7) conduct funerals 8) keep regular office hours for congregation and community to drop off or pick up materials and for 1:1 conversations. 9) and serving on the nation council of Living Stones: A Movement of Reformed Churches the regional elders council and the publication team of the online publication 'Living in Truth'

Our newest program is called 'A Moment of Your Time' which is aimed at addressing the growing expressions of loneliness from the older senior population. We address this need by setting up visitation teams who set up regular visit times with their senior bringing beverages and treats to share during their 20-30 minute visits. Residents who live in their own homes also receive a home made meal and a 7 day selection of cookies or other treats. The Moment of Your Time program has been a blessing to the older senior community. Our goal in 2025 is to expand our volunteers by providing paid transportation primarily bus fare to enable individuals without a vehicle to become volunteers.
