Completed Programs We completed the Ontario Seniors Community Grant for 2023/24 for Musical Musings performing six one-hour sing-a-long concerts in the GTA. Report was filed at the completion of this grant. Two of the concerts had to be re-scheduled to after the grant period due to illness/lock downs in those locations. We received thank you letters after each of these concerts with requests to return as soon as possible. Feb 28th Over 60 Fellowship 107 Cedarvale Ave. East York March 6th – New Horizons Tower 1140 Bloor St West Toronto March 7 – Harmony Hall 2 Gower St Toronto March 8th – Sunshine Centre 460 Jarvis St Toronto April 16th -- Blair Court 266 Donlands Ave Toronto May 29th – Christie Gardens 600 Melita Cres Toronto We also tried to arrange two additional free Musical Musings concerts at Casey House and University Health Network (UHN) but were not successful getting through the levels of administration before we took a break for the summer. If funding is available for 2025-26 with the Ontario Seniors Community grant we will contact these locations again. Initiatives We produced a short promotional video for Musical Musings and this is posted on our WSP website on the Musical Musings page. We applied for the Toronto Fringe Festival but were not chosen in the lottery. Government Funding We applied for funding to the Federal New Horizons for Seniors grant (NHSP) for a new Musical Revue (With a Song in My Heart) plus a free Community Choir in partnership with South Riverdale Community Health Centre (SRCHC). Our thanks to the Government of Ontario for funding our Musical Musings concerts project in 2023-24. These popular sing-a-long concerts are well-received in each location and we are always asked to return when funding is available. Other We met the legal requirements for filing T4As and T3010 reports on time. We posted a graphic for International Women’s Day thanking all the women who donate time and talent to our mission to support senior theatre artists. We also edited and re-posted our Christmas video with the link shared via our email list and social media sites. We solicited donations in December to support our to Pop Up events in 2025 and were delighted at the response. Volunteers and Associated Artists Our on-going thanks to the stalwart volunteers who keep WSP projects moving along by offering countless volunteer hours.
