The mandate of Connect the Coast Society is to establish administer and maintain a multi-use active transportation path on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia (the 'Project'). The mandate of Connect the Coast Society is to establish administer and maintain a multi-use active transportation path on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia (the 'Project'). Our ongoing programs are: 1) Conducting Public Policy Dialogue and Development Activities including: - researching the environmental social health and economic benefits of establishing the Project; - providing the results of our research to the media government representatives funding agencies community groups and the general public; - advocating for increased government funding and support for the Project; - mobilizing others to advocate for increased funding and support for the Project; - making representations verbally and in writing to elected and other public officials political parties and candidates to solicit their support for the Project; - providing forums and convening discussions with stakeholders to receive input about the Project on an ongoing basis; 2) Coordinating and Managing an Infrastructure Project including: - coordinating the various actors that must be brought together for the Project to succeed including representatives from municipal regional provincial federal and First Nations governments as well as community-based organizations funding agencies and consultants with relevant subject-matter expertise.
