Co-Unity advanced education by making a grant to the Ontario Co-operative Association (OCA) a non-profit co-operative entity that operates the overnight summer camp program for youth ages 13-18 called Co-operative Young Leaders (CYL). The camp program is a unique experiential learning program that brings together youth from across Ontario over 4 weeks to equip them with the change-making tools and skills needed to succeed in the world. Co-Unity advanced education by making a grant to the Ontario Co-operative Association (OCA) a non-profit co-operative entity that operates the overnight summer camp program for youth ages 13-18 called Co-operative Young Leaders (CYL). The camp program is a unique experiential learning program that brings together youth from across Ontario over 4 weeks to equip them with the change-making tools and skills needed to succeed in the world. Bringing together youth with established co-operative mentors creates a relationship that embraces and enhances their leadership potential. Participants develop self-confidence learn from inspiring guest speakers and have fun with traditional camp activities set in a non-judgmental welcoming atmosphere. This program is managed by OCA's CYL Director along with 2 summer jobs staff. It is also supported by 20 volunteer facilitators that are representatives of Ontario's co-operative businesses and CYL alumni.
