THIS YEAR WE EXPANDED OUR OUTREACH TO SERVE ADDITIONAL AFFORDABLE HOUSING SITES INCLUDING KELLY COURT APARTMENTS IN VANCOUVER WHICH SUPPORTS RESIDENTS WITH DISABILITIES. THROUGH THIS EXPANSION WE INCREASED ACCESS TO FREE FOOD FOR INDIVIDUALS FACING BOTH ECONOMIC AND HEALTH-RELATED BARRIERS. OUR PROGRAMS ARE CARRIED OUT WITH THE HELP OF A COMMITTED TEAM OF VOLUNTEERS WHO ASSIST IN FOOD COLLECTION PREPARATION AND DISTRIBUTION ACROSS ALL SERVICE LOCATIONS.

New programs

FOOD LINK SECURITY SUCCESSFULLY CONTINUED ALL CORE ACTIVITIES OUTLINED IN PREVIOUS YEARS. IN 2024 WE SIGNIFICALLY EXPANDED OUR FOOD DISTRIBUTION EFFORTS BY EXTENDING OUR FREE FOOD PROGRAM TO SERVE OVER 15 AFFORDABLE HOUSING SITES ACROSS THE LOW MAINLAND. NEW LOCATIONS ADDED THIS YEAR INCLUDE: SOMERSET GARDENS - SURREY BC ALDERWOOD PLACE IN RICHMOND AND KELLY COURT APARTMENTS - VANCOUVER (SERVING RESIDENTS WITH DISABILITIES). WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE BROADENED OUR REACH AND TO BE SUPPORTING EVEN MORE INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES EXPERIENCING FOOD INSECURITY THROUGH THESE NEW PARTNERSHIPS.
