ECS MAINTAINED THEIR ENROLMENT TO OVER 700 STUDENTS. THEY CONTINUE TO EXPERIENCE SOME SHORT-TERM SHUTDOWNS DUE TO UNREST IN THE COUNTRY. THE FOCUS ON EDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENTS CONTINUES AND LOOKING FORWARD TO THEIR LONG-TERM PLANS TO TRANSITION TO THE WORKFORCE. HAITI MAMA CANADA CONTINUES IT'S WORK WITH HAITI MAMA NOU AND WAS ABLE TO ASSIST IN THE EMERGENCY RELOCATION OF 126 PEOPLE 7 CHILDREN IN DISABILITY CARE AND OUR 3 DOGS TO A NEW HOME AND HEADQUARTERS IN THE SOUTHERN HAITIAN COUNTRYSIDE. THE STAFF AND FAMILIES HAVE WORKED HARD TO INTEGRATE INTO THEIR NEW COMMUNITY. EACH FAMILY WAS ABLE TO FIND NEW HOUSING SUITABLE FOR THEIR BUDGETS AND FAMILIES.

ECS COLLABORATED WITH HAITIAN EDUCATION PROJECT (HEP) PUBLIC HEALTH TEAM TO PROVIDE HEALTH EDUCATION LESSONS TO OVER 700 STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES TO HELP CONTROL COMMUNICABLE AND NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASES. IN PARTNERING WITH STREET BUSINESS SCHOOL 25 PROFESSORS WERE TRAINED TO TEACH BASIC ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS AND FINANCIAL PLANNING TO STUDENTS AND IN AN ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAM. HAITI MAMA NOU IS WORKING WITH FAMILIES ON FINANCIAL LITERACY AS THIS HAS BECOME A PRIORITY TO HELP THEM BECOME INDEPENDENT IN THIER NEW COMMUNITY. HMN IS ALSO FOCUSING IT'S ENERGY ON TRAINING IN THE ARTS BY STARTING A SEWING PROGRAM TO MAKE SCHOOL UNIFORMS FOR INCOME AND CREATE ARTESIAN ITEMS LIKE JEWELLERY MACRAME AND TEXTILE PRODUCTS TO SELL AND CREATE INCOME SUPPORT THEIR FAMILIES.
