PRE- AND POST-FESTIVAL EVENTS WERE HELD DURING 2024 TO CONTINUE TO SUPPORT ARTISTS KEEP FESTIVAL BRAND AWARENESS OUTSIDE FESTIVAL DATES AND BRING ARTS PERFORMANCE TO THE SOUTH OKANAGAN. PROGRAMMING REVOLVED AROUND THE MISSION STATEMENT OF THE RYGA ARTS FESTIVAL OF BRINGING ATTENTION TO UNDERSERVED AND MARGINALIZED VOICES AND PROMOTING SOCIAL CHANGE THROUGH THE ARTS. EVERY YEAR SEVERAL EVENTS AT THE FESTIVAL ARE FREE TO ATTEND OR PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN. RYGA FESTIVAL ENGAGED MANY VOLUNTEERS AND ONE CANADA SUMMER JOBS SUMMER STUDENT A GENERAL MANAGER CONTRACTOR. THE RYGA ARTS FESTIVAL IS GOVERNED BY A VOLUNTEER BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
New programs
NEW WORKS BY CANADIAN CREATORS WERE PRESENTED AND PERFORMED AT THE 2024 FESTIVAL. IN RESPONSE TO AUDIENCE FEEDBACK FROM THE 2023 FESTIVAL MUSIC THEATRE AND WRITING WORKSHOPS WERE EXPANDED.
