Volunteers solicit donations of used vehicles and cash in Regina SK and surrounding area. Donated vehicles that are received are refurbished and repaired as needed by volunteers with automotive mechanical experience. The cost of this work is provided by donated funds. If a donated vehicle is unsuitable (e.g. it cannot be made roadworthy at a reasonable cost) it is sold and the proceeds used to purchase another vehicle that is suitable or to pay for repairs and other costs. When a donated vehicle is ready to be awarded to a single mother volunteers review the nomination forms received from community based organizations and churches in the Regina SK area. They interview prospective recipients and choose the successful nominee who best meets the established criteria. Follow-up support is provided by volunteers to vehicle recipients thereafter including oil changes and safety checks. Awards of vehicles are made at public events if possible and are also publicized on our website and on social media for increased awareness and to increase future donations. On occasion radio and print media publicize the award.
