THE PURPOSE OF THE GUELPH BLACK HERITAGE SOCIETY(GBHS) IS TO PRESERVE THE HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE BME CHURCH BY CREATING A CULTURAL HISTORICAL AND SOCIAL CENTRE WITHIN GUELPH AND WELLINGTON COUNTY. THE GBHS ALSO PROVIDES TO COMMUNITY THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN ABOUT THE COMMUNITY’S BLACK HERITAGE BY STAGING PRESENTATIONS DURING BLACK HISTORY MONTH EMANCIPATION DAY AND THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
