Gender Based Violence Advocacy Research Education Advocacy policy work awareness campaigns training public awareness online resources and other education to prevent and end all forms of gender-based violence and human trafficking. Gender-Based Violence Survivor Support Various support for survivors of gender-based violence and sexual exploitation (and their children) including: trauma counselling safety planning and case management as well as assistance with housing food clothing travel and other essentials needed when fleeing violence. Gender-Based Violence In The Media Improving and changing the way GBV is portrayed in the media through the fostering of a National Network of pan-Canadian stakeholders from both the GBV & media sectors who collaborate to create trauma- and survivor-informed intersectional guidelines for Canadian media to report on GBV as well as expertise tools events and other resources for Canadian journalists and media professionals to promote awareness and prevention of GBV in Canada. Empowering the Future (India) A project to empower support and protect girl children (ages 8-18) who are at high risk of sexual exploitation human trafficking child marriage and other forms of gender-based violence and who have been removed from the red light districts of Kalighat Sovabazar Sonagachhi Chetla and Khidirpur and other high-risk communities with the consent and cooperation of their mothers. This project: • Provides safe dignified housing and healthy nutritious food • Supports the girls to attend regular school and tutoring • Provides extra-curricular activities such as Indian classical dance modern dance and other art forms computer and tech training boxing self-defence sports tailoring craft cookery and other activities/events of their individual interest • Supports the girls to access healthcare • Provides mental health support and emotional support through trauma-informed counselling • Provides awareness of human rights human trafficking child marriage and other forms of gender-based violence in order to prevent violence and exploitation • Provides rehabilitation support and healing opportunities to girls who have previously experienced gender- based violence human trafficking sexual exploitation etc.
