Founded in 2007 Charity Intelligence researches and analyses Canadian charities so donors have information to make informed and intelligent giving decisions. According to StatsCanada research 30% of Canadians say they do not give more to charity because they lack information to give confidently. Similarly from national surveys 98% of Canadians want more information about charities. Yet only 20% find that charities provide this information. Charity Intelligence strives to bridge these information gaps so donors have greater confidence in their giving. 77% of donors who use Charity Intelligence's website report greater confidence and give 32% more money. Through independent and objective ratings on 830 Canadian charities with reports posted on the website freely accessible to all we strive to help donors be informed. Charity Intelligence's star ratings highlight outstanding charities and annual Top Picks lists help Canadians find high impact charities to support. Charity Intelligence's website ranks 5th internationally in charity research.

In F2024 website visits were 324 000 a 15% drop from 381 707 in F2023. According to Google Analytics 281 747 unique Canadian donors use the website informing and influencing $77.2 million in annual giving. Website visits come from all across Canada and are fairly balanced in national representation. In F2023 Charity Intelligence's work helped the Globe and Mail reporters win the 2021 Michener Award for our analysis of the financial wealth of the Catholic Church in Canada and the 2022 Michener Award that analysed the financial accounts of Hockey Canada. Fiscal 2024 wasn't as exciting. Over the summer of 2024 Charity Intelligence updated 497 charity reports so donors have the most recent and relevant information. In the year ahead Charity Intelligence hopes to do a deeper dive into the charity sectors Homeless Youth International Health Environment Intermediaries and Giving Trends.
