Ongoing programs
The Foundation is a charity dedicated to strengthening the foundations of community. We do this by providing financial support to nurture the potential of children teens and young adults; promote healthy living; and foster social responsibility. Our focus on inclusiveness and accessibility means that we assist in serving people of all ages backgrounds and abilities through all stages of life. The Foundation is a charity dedicated to strengthening the foundations of community. We do this by providing financial support to nurture the potential of children teens and young adults; promote healthy living; and foster social responsibility. Our focus on inclusiveness and accessibility means that we assist in serving people of all ages backgrounds and abilities through all stages of life. Through Endowment Fund-supported assistance programs the YMCA is accessible to all. Our financial assistance allows disadvantaged children and families to attend YMCA core offerings including child care camping aquatics health and fitness employment programs volunteer development global initiatives community initiatives and opportunities to give. The Foundation received its registration in late 2009 and became active on July 1 2015. In January 2023 the Foundation legally updated and certified its Name Bylaws and Constitution to become the YMCA BC Foundation reflecting its support of the newly unified YMCA BC and its increased geographical support of the regions of Greater Vancouver Kamloops and Northern BC.
