Al-Hedaya Islamic Centre of Northeast Calgary

Our organization is committed to serving the community through a variety of religious educational and social initiatives. We offer daily prayers weekly Friday prayers annual Eid prayers and Quran recitation classes for boys and girls. Our educational programs include Islamic history guidance discipline citizenship volunteerism Tajweed (proper recitation) Tahfeez (memorization) Tafseer (interpretation) and Fiqh (understanding Islamic jurisprudence) along with youth mentorship focused on manners and ethics. Beyond spiritual services we contribute to the broader community by supporting organizations that provide emergency relief temporary shelter and targeted assistance to women and children. We also help families in need by covering basic necessities such as groceries clothing and utility bills and we operate a mini food bank offering non-perishable items to combat poverty. Additionally we run wellness programs aimed at supporting the well-being of children.

The youth Arabic and Tahfeez (Quran memorization) program was successfully launched in January 2025 and has been running with strong engagement and participation. Building on this momentum we are now in the final stages of planning to expand our educational offerings. These upcoming programs will include Arabic language Tahfeez and Islamic education classes specifically designed for females providing them with structured opportunities to deepen their religious knowledge and Quranic understanding. In addition we are preparing to introduce a full-time Quran memorization program tailored for adult males. This initiative aims to support individuals who are committed to dedicating themselves to the memorization of the Quran in a more intensive and immersive setting. These new programs reflect our ongoing commitment to inclusive high-quality Islamic education for all members of the community.
